“Congratulations on your 50th birthday Ulla - 1963” it said on the back of the frame on one of the embroidered paintings that I have used in my collection. Many hours of work have been put into the embroidery; that I bought for only 20 kr. It could be classified as almost worthless.
Like an alchemist with sustainability as a starting point, I have tried to ameliorate objects that have lost their value along the way.
Through experimenting with methods and techniques that are rarely used in fashion I have given the materials a new value by putting them in a different context. The collection is inspired by alchemical symbolism and art and interior decoration.

MATERIALS & TECHNIQUES

Tufting (technique for making rugs), dyed linen, tufted wool fabric, patchworked embroideries. Machine knitted Shetland wool.
